SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) – A South Windsor woman received quite the college graduation gift.

On Thursday, the Connecticut Lottery announced that 22-year-old Anissa Dellaripa won $2,000 a month for the rest of her life thanks to a $1 scratch ticket.

“My dad often buys me scratch tickets for fun,” Dellaripa explained to CT Lottery officials. “He gave me this one and said, ‘Here, scratch it.’ The ticket cost only a dollar; he didn’t really think anything of it…I thought he gave me a fake ticket as a joke, but I really won!”

Dellaripa chose to take the game’s annuity payment option versus the lump sum prize valued at $400,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at Alltown Manchester at 1527 Pleasant Valley Road in Manchester. For selling the ticket, the store will receive $6,000 from the CT Lottery.

Of the game’s five top prizes, one has not yet been claimed.
