Racine Pregunta was in her prime when she was diagnosed with a malignant bone tumor. Doctors could do little for the 20-year-old from the Philippines, the cancer was very advanced and she didn’t have long to live. Racine accepted her fate and only had one final wish: she wanted to “die beautiful.” This was also the name of her favorite movie.
Racine left her family some very specific instructions: she wanted to be buried wearing a strapless white dress and a hairband made of white flowers. She wanted to look like the bride that she would never have a chance to become. With tears in their eyes, her family promised to fulfill her wish. Five days later, Racine died surrounded by her loving family.
