If you have chickens and regularly gather eggs from the coop, then you’ll know just how ingenious this crocheted egg apron is.
The egg apron is the invention of Ashlea Konecny, blogger at Heart Hook Home. Konecny noticed that her friend, Cassy, who cares for 30 chickens each day, needed a less cumbersome way to gather eggs. Konecny, who loves to crochet, came up with this apron as a solution.
The apron features 19 egg-shaped pockets. They can help to keep eggs safe during gathering, but are also useful for holding other tools, too. There’s also a larger back pocket suitable for a cell phone.
And if you have kids who like to help out with chores, there’s also a child-sized pattern. Note: This apron may be a great idea for Easter egg hunts!
From holding craft items to tools to eggs, this apron is versatile and fun. You can see a whole tutorial, with photos, on Konecny’s blog.
